Are you a boating family? Well you should be! With this summer being so beautiful, why not take your family to some of the best boating sites in the UK.
The Lake District
If you don’t have a boat, they can be hired from Waterhead, Low Wood, Bowness, Brockhole - The Lake District Visitor Centre and Fell Foot Park. And these boats can vary from rowing boats to sailing boats or you could even drive yourself in a motorboat!
Why not take a cruise?! There are so many options and different tickets that allow you to hop off, walk back or just sit back and watch the mountains; woodlands and islands before your eyes.
Fancy canoeing? Pop down to Windermere Canoe and Kayak on Ferry Nab Road, Bowness for your chance to get your hands on your very own canoe.
Ever fancied fishing? Why not have a go at catching some arctic charr, brown trout, pike, perch, roach and eels, salmon and even sea trout.
Sailing more your style? Why not take up dinghy sailing! Take a walk to these centers to have a go: - Low Wood Watersports and Activity Centre and Lakes Leisure on Windermere. Or, why not try keeled yachts: - Go to Ark Sailing or OB Sailing to find out more!
Goodrington Boating Lakes
Are big boats not your style? Take a gander on one of their Swan peddle boats, or kick it into high gear with one of their motorboats.
Crystal Palace Park
Around and about London?
Splash down in the water in a pedalo in the largest park in Bromley. Plus, if your children like dinosaurs you can go boating to see the famous Victorian dinosaurs! There is also a children's playground, a national sports centre, a maze and café very nearby.
The Regal Boat Hire is responsible for the boating facilities in Victoria Park. Take a chance with a row-bow or play it safe with a pedalo. Don’t forget, there’s always a café close by!
We hope you take up some of these boating opportunities this summer. Spending quality time with family and friends really is important, plus, your kids will get to learn a new and valuable life skill!
