Course Overview

Whether you are transitioning into nannying from a nursery, teaching or care setting, are taking a gap year and want to do something you love or fancy a complete career change - the Junior Nanny Course is perfect for you.

Practical and intensive, our 5 day residential course is designed to equip students with the skills, knowledge and confidence to start their nannying career and/or take it to the next level.

  • 5 nannying-specific modules PLUS online elements completed in advance

  • Fully certified and accredited with CPD

  • Suitable for Ofsted registration

  • Residential; luxury accommodation and all food included

  • Course is based in Salisbury, Wiltshire

  • Qualifies for the Gold DofE residential element

  • Access incredible nannying opportunities after graduating with Freckles and our partner agencies

We cover one of the 5 main nannying-specific modules each day and the evenings are filled with activities, additional sessions and the odd bit of down time! You can see an example itinerary here.

  1. Baby Basics, 0 - 12 months

  2. Children’s Emotional Health

  3. Family Cooking & Nutrition

  4. Paediatric First Aid

  5. The Foundations of Nannying

 

Elements completed in advance:

  • Common Core Skills course (3 hours)

  • Online Paediatric First Aid Element (6 hours)

  • Enhanced DBS application (10 mins)

  • CV & Cover Letter mini course (60 mins)

Bonus sessions:

  • confidence and mindset sessions - how you show up matters more than anything when you work with children

  • a 1-1 session to review your CV and cover letter (specific to nannying)

  • interview training and mock interview session with feedback

  • Zumba, yoga and self defence sessions
