Meet Georgie

I completed the Freckles Ski Nanny Course in February 2024 (and LOVED IT!). I then went on to work as a Ski Nanny from December 2024 - March 2025 with Alpine Resort Nannies (who are based in Morzine and Les Gets) and had the BEST 3 months!

It was scary to pack my bags and fly to a different country not knowing anyone but I made incredible friends (mainly Cat another Freckles grad), worked with so many amazing children and came home filled with more confidence and self-belief than I ever thought was possible!

I cannot recommend doing a ski season enough. It was INCREDIBLE!

Meet Ellie

I trained with Freckles in December 2022. I knew I wanted to do a ski season but didn’t have anything lined up. After the course I secured a part season (Feb - April) with ABSki in Tignes, which I loved and went back for the full 23/24 season, which was amazing.

I did lots of temping during the summer months - both as a nanny and in a nursery and set up my own Ski Nanny company, Little Peaks Childcare with my friend for the 24/25 season. Wild! We are based in Val Thorens and are heading back for our second season this winter. It’s SO exciting and a journey I could never have imagined when I first did my training!

Meet Phoebe

Hi, I’m Phoebe and I completed the Ski Nanny Course in September 2023. I really wanted to do a ski season but I had very little formal childcare experience, so when I came across the course I knew it was for me!

I applied in advance of doing my training with Freckles and got a job with Ski Famille - who were amazing to work for. I worked the 23/24 ski season and honestly had the BEST time. It was such a fun experience and I cannot recommend it enough!!

Meet Cara

I completed the Freckles Ski Nanny Course in September 2024 - I managed to get a last minute spot and it was amazing.

I knew I wanted to do a ski season and been looking around and applying before coming across Freckles. I was lucky enough to secure a position with Elle and her team at T4 Nanny and booked onto my training after getting the job.

I had the most incredible season - I worked regularly with one family and had other families around that. It was such a lot of fun and an amazing experience.

If you’re thinking of booking onto the Ski Nanny Course then go for it - the opportunities are endless!

Meet Milla

Hi, I’m Milla and I completed the Freckles Ski Nanny Course in July 2024. I’ve always wanted to do a ski season as a nanny and the course seemed like the best way to get me there.

Since completing the course, I’ve done lots of temp nannying including a weekend in Italy with 52 other Freckles Nannies working at a corporate event - it was incredible!

Anyway, for the 25/26 season I’ve secured a job with Sarina and the team at Petit Verbier and I am honestly SO excited. I cannot wait to spend 5 months in the mountains, making friends and looking after little ones. Yay for this.

After my ski season I’m heading to America to spend the summer working at a summer camp. With the course you really can do anything.

Meet Dani

Hello! I trained with Freckles on their Ski Nanny Course in October 2023 straight after leaving school and it was such a fun week.

I was really keen to do a ski season before heading to university the following September. So with the support of Team Freckles I applied to a number of partner agencies and landed my dream job in Val d’Isere working for T4 Nanny!

I absolutely loved my season. Spending 5 months in the mountains was such a lot of fun and I made some amazing friends.

If you’re thinking about doing it - go for it.

Course Dates & Pricing

You can train to be a Ski Nanny throughout the year. Recruitment tends to open for the upcoming season in May, as agencies like to be organised with the majority of roles being offered by September / October. There are always last minute positions and companies often need replacement nannies and part season nannies to join them throughout the season.

Meet Georgie

I’m Georgie and I trained with Freckles in July 2025. I’m mid 20’s and wanted to move out of the industry I was in and into nannying and the course seemed like the perfect stepping stone. I also really wanted to try something different and ski season seemed to tick all of those boxes.

I got the application crib sheet from Team Freckles before the course and sent off a few applications and had an interview with VIP SKI the week after training. I was so nervous but I did it and I am SO excited because I’m heading out to join them for the 25/26 season as Head Nanny in one of their resorts - totally mind blowing and incredible! I cannot wait!!

FAQs

some of our most commonly asked questions

+ If I do the course will you guarantee me a Ski Nanny job?

Unfortunately we can’t guarantee that you’ll get a Ski Nanny job after completing the course, however our relationships with our partner agencies are very strong as we can provide you with a full reference and they thoroughly endorse the course. Our students who have grabbed the opprotunity have succeeded in getting a Ski Nanny job offer.

+ What's the situation with visas?

The visa system for UK nationals entering and working in the EU is still being established and that in liklihood you will have to get a visa if you don't have an EU passport. With Canada the visa process is relatively straightforward and can take about 3 months. Each partner agency is able to advise specifically on their location requirements and will be able to help you with the process.

+ How much will I earn as a Ski Nanny?

Unlike those who work as chalet host as a Ski Nanny you will be paid a full and competitive wage. In France this can range from €10 - €25 per hour.

+ How much time will I get to ski?

Most ski nanny agencies enable you to work some weeks as full time and some as part time, allowing you lots of time to ski.

+ What's the situation with accommodation when working as a Ski Nanny?

You will need to find some accommodation, however most agencies will be able to help you with this. Most commonly you will be in a big house / hotel with lots of other seasonnaires. It's a great way to build a large group of friends and to have a brilliant time.

+ Is the course certified?

The course is fully certified and accredited with CPD (the continual professional development body) under the title 'Junior Nanny Course' see here >>. It is graded between pass and distinction plus. The 12hr paediatric first aid element and common core skills course are standalone qualifications in their own right.

+ I’ve got a level 2 / 3 in childcare and / or I’ve been working in a nursery. Is the course still suitable for me?

Yes. Absolutely. The course is designed to be super practical and hands on and covers the essentials of being a nanny. Nannying is very different to a nursery setting and the course compliments everything you’ll have already learnt through a childcare course / degree.

+ What job opportunities are available after I've done the course and hopefully a Ski Nanny Season?

So many! You can join us as a Festival / Wedding or Event nanny when you have availability and we work with a large number of partner agencies to offer traditional nannying opportunities (temporary and permanent) both in the UK and internationally.

+ Do I have to stay onsite with the course?

The course is residential as it’s very intense with long days of learning. We are incredibly welcoming, course sizes are small and the property is lovely - there aren’t any bunk beds!

+ Can I book and come with a friend?

Yes, of course. It’s just subject to availability on each course. We recommend booking onto your chosen course as soon as you’ve decided as spaces are limited.

+ I’ve noticed that payment plans are available. Do I need to have completed the whole payment plan before I can go on the course?

No! You can attend your course whilst your payment plan is ongoing. For example if you book onto a course in 2 months time and have a 5 month payment plan. You’ll attend the course having paid 2 instalments and the remaining 3 instalments will be paid after you’ve completed it.

+ I already have an Enhanced DBS on the update service / in date paediatric first aid certificate / common core skills certificate. Do I have to pay for these again?

No, of course not. Simply send copies of your certificates over to us when you want to book and we’ll organise a special purchase option for you with the correct costs removed.

+ What if I’m unwell before / during the course?

If you are unwell before the course, keep in touch with us and we will do our best to accommodate it and come up with a plan. If you're unwell whilst on a course then the onsite team will help you and will get you back for another course / organise extra sessions if you miss any training.

+ How old do I have to be to come on the course?

The minimum age for coming on the course is 16 at the time of attending. The minimum age to work with us and our partner agencies is 18 but we support you with getting work independently before then.
